Equine Assisted Growth & Learning Experiences
Corporate & Staff Team Building
Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Experiences (EAGLE) is the process of using
horses as a catalyst for growth and learning. EAGLE Workshops help people
learn about themselves and others by actively planning and participating in
specially designed activities with horses.
During EAGLE Workshops, clients work with a
trained equine specialist and licensed therapist to process their feelings
and behavorial patterns. The co-facilitators are certified by Equine
Assisted Growth and Learning Assocation (EAGALA) which provided guidelines
of standards and ethics for the industry. Issues that are effectively
addressed with individuals and groups in EAGLE Workshops include:
- Learning Creative Problem Solving
- Building and Developing Leadership Skills
- Developing Teamwork and Cooperation
- Developing and Improving Communication
- Understanding Appropriate Boundaries
- Learning to Cope with Stress
- Learning Appropriate Outlets for Anger and
Frustration
- Increasing Confidence
- Understanding Physical and Emotional
Reactions
- Understanding Healthy Relationships
- Facing Fears and Taking Risks

This could be challenging!
Not all
programs or individuals that use horse practice Equine Assisted Growth and
Learning Activities. The focus of EAGLE is not riding or horsemanship. 90%
of EAGLE activities takes place purely on the ground. The EAGLE workshops
involve setting up activities involving the horses, which will require the
group to apply certain skills. Nonverbal communication, assertiveness,
creative thinking and problem solving, leadership, work, taking
responsibility, teamwork and relationships, confidence, and attitude are
several examples of the tools utilized and developed by EAGLE Workshops.
Traditional workshops usually involve someone who presides over the
sessions usually standing in front of a group talking about attitudes and
showing charts and graphs. In contrast, EAGLE activities take place in a
pasture under a wide-open sky; clients and facilitators wear casual clothing
and the horse also becomes the facilitator.
